Gen AI: Towards A More Humanistic, Less Technical Approach In Architecture

My talk for Futurespaces / Online

Over the past century, architects have consistently adapted to new technology, harnessing it to enhance their techniques and push the boundaries of the built environment. However, in an ever-changing world, the rise of generative artificial intelligence presents an ultimate opportunity (or perhaps a threat) for master builders and creators to both craft and amplify technical capability.

Nonetheless, there is also the concern of not utilizing the tools we employ with a critical eye for our past, present, and future practice. Generative AI offers the extremely important, yet underestimated, capacity to delve into the core philosophy of what we do and why, rather than adhering to a reductive process that often distances us from a built environment resonating with the human element.
